Garfield School Needs:

PARK IN THE COMMUNITY

Park UMC is continuing our relationship with Garfield School and working to expand that relationship.  We have been communicating with the principal, Jodi Kennedy and the collaborative worker, Traci Potvin, to find ways our church family can support and help the Garfield family.

Our first opportunity will be collecting school supplies that will be available for the collaborative worker to hand out as needed.  A basket will be available for your donations through Sept. 3.

Be watching for opportunities to volunteer in classrooms and for events at the school.

NEEDLEWORK WITH A CAUSE

Garfield School will be needing scarves, hats, and mittens to give to students in need this winter.  The Monday Night Intergenerational Needlework Group will be focusing their knitting and crocheting on this need for the next few months.

Come to New Light Campus the second and fourth Mondays of the month from 6:30-7:45 to work on these winter items.  We will have yarn and patterns available for you to use.

Let’s fill a basket with all of our creations to keep our school kids warm this winter!

GARFIELD SCHOOL NEEDS

It's not too early to start thinking about warm clothing for Garfield School students.  Some children sized items to start collecting are:

Socks

Underwear

Pants (sweatpants and the like are great)

Shirts (long sleeved especially)

Winter hats

Winter gloves

Mittens

Shoes

By providing these items we are helping the school focus on their learning goals.  Look for more information coming soon.
